


Click Start Preparing My Return to proceed with your current year’s tax return.Once the data is imported, an Import summary page opens showing you the information that has been imported. Tip: To find your H&R Block tax file from last year, look for the file extension. Browse to the location of the file, select the file you want to import, and click Open.Provided you’re using the same sign in information as last year, your information will automatically be imported into your 2016 return. Select H&R Block Online and click Next.The Import your personal and tax data from last year’s return page opens.On the Welcome page, click Start a new return.If you choose to import from our H&R Block 2015 product, you’ll be able to directly bring in not only all your personal information, but also your HBP/LLP amounts, unused tuition amounts, moving expenses, and some additional provincial tax credit amounts. Note: If you skip the carry forward process, you can find most of your carry forward information on your latest Notice of Assessment (NOA) or Notice of Reassessment (NOR).

Depending on which software you used to do your taxes last year, you might be able to import some of the personal information from your 2015 return (name, Social Insurance Number, and date of birth) directly into your 2016 return using the Past Return Import functionality.
